YesPlate

Terms of use

YesPlate app and website Effective 13 August 2026

These terms apply between you and Ruslan Balzhyk, Bulgaria, hello@yesplate.eu ("we"), and govern your use of the YesPlate app and website. By using either you accept them.

The privacy policy and the refund policy form part of these terms. If you buy a pass, the refund policy is the part you are most likely to need, and it is written to be read rather than survived.

1. What YesPlate is

YesPlate reads menus that restaurants have published, works out dish by dish which items appear to fit a dietary filter, and shows you the result. It is a search tool over published information.

Most of it is free and needs no account. Seeing every match rather than the first five requires a paid pass, which is what sections 3 to 6 are about. We may change or stop the service at any time — section 6 says what happens to a pass you have already paid for if we do.

2. What YesPlate is not — please read this one

We are not the restaurant, and we do not have the recipes.

Every dietary verdict in this app is an inference drawn from the words a restaurant published on its menu. That inference is often right and sometimes wrong, for reasons no amount of care removes:

So the app says "probably fine", never "safe", and shows you the date the menu was last seen. Always confirm with the restaurant before you order, especially if a mistake would harm you.

If you have coeliac disease, a diagnosed food allergy, or any condition where a wrong answer is a medical event rather than an inconvenience, treat this app as a way to find candidate restaurants and nothing more. Ask the staff. This is also why some dietary constraints are deliberately not offered in the app: we only publish a filter when we can verify it well enough to be worth showing, and we would rather offer four than seven.

Nothing in this app is medical advice.

Paying does not change any of this. A pass buys you more results, not better ones — the same inference, over the same published menus, with the same limits. Nothing in section 2 is softened by having paid for section 3.

3. Free access and passes

Searching YesPlate is free. A free search returns the first five matching dishes and tells you how many matches there are in total, so you always know what you are not being shown.

A pass unlocks every match, in every city we cover. There are two, and both are a single payment for a fixed period:

Pass How long it lasts
14 days 14 days from purchase
1 year 365 days from purchase

Neither pass renews and neither can be cancelled, because there is nothing to cancel. You are not signing up to anything. When the period ends, the charge does not repeat and your searches return to the free five results. Buying another pass is a new decision each time.

Passes are currently sold on the website. The apps show what a pass is and where to get one.

We may change what the free tier includes, add cities, or change prices. A change to prices or to what a pass includes applies to passes bought afterwards — the pass you already paid for keeps the terms it was sold under for the period you paid for.

4. Buying a pass — price, payment and Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

So the contract of sale for a pass is between you and Paddle, not between you and us. Paddle takes the payment, is responsible for the tax, issues your invoice and is the party that processes refunds. Paddle's own buyer terms apply to that transaction alongside this one. These terms continue to govern the service itself — what YesPlate does, what it does not do, and what you may use it for.

Prices are shown at checkout in your currency and include any VAT or sales tax that applies where you are. You see the total before you pay, and there is nothing added afterwards.

We never see or store your card details. Payment details go to Paddle and its payment processors; what reaches us is described in the privacy policy.

5. Refunds and your right to withdraw

1-year pass: a full refund within 30 days of the charge, for any reason. No explanation needed and no deduction for the part you used.

14-day pass: the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, and because that window is as long as the pass itself, we deduct a proportionate amount for the days you had access and refund the rest — the price divided by 14, multiplied by the whole days you had it. You get everything back regardless if the pass never worked, if you were charged twice, or if we discontinued the service.

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK you have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of any purchase, and you keep it even after you have started using YesPlate. We do not ask you to waive it — YesPlate is a digital service rather than digital content, so the waiver some sellers use does not apply here. By asking us to give you access immediately on payment, you are asking for performance to begin during that period, and on the 14-day pass that is what makes the proportionate deduction above payable if you then withdraw. We tell you this before you buy so that it is not a surprise afterwards.

The refund policy is the full version, and it governs: how to ask, how long it takes, what happens to your access, duplicate charges, and what we do if we discontinue the service mid-pass. Read it before you buy — it is short.

6. If we change or stop the service

We may change YesPlate, add or remove cities and features, or stop it altogether. Where that removes something you have paid for while your pass still has time to run, we refund the unused part of what you paid, as the refund policy sets out. Free access carries no such promise, for the ordinary reason that nothing was paid for it.

A "1 year" pass is a year of access to YesPlate as it exists during that year, not a guarantee that any particular restaurant, city or dish will still be in it. Restaurants close, menus come down, and coverage moves.

7. Your account

An account is optional for free use. You can create one before buying, or we create it from the email address Paddle verifies when you buy a pass, because paid access has to survive closing a browser and work on another device. You sign in through a link sent to that address — there is no password to choose or forget. Use the same email at checkout as the signed-in account. The privacy policy explains what is stored against it; searches, preferences and saved places remain on each device.

Your pass is for you. Do not share the sign-in link or let other people use your access — not because we are hunting for it, but because anyone with that link can take over the account, and it is the only thing standing between your purchase and a stranger.

If you lose access to the email address you bought with, write to hello@yesplate.eu and we will do what we reasonably can to move the pass. That may require you to show the purchase was yours.

You can ask us to delete the account at any time — see the privacy policy. If you delete it while a pass is running, the pass goes with it. Deleting it is not itself a reason for a refund, but it does not take away one you were already entitled to under section 5 — ask for the refund and we will handle both together.

8. Ratings, photos and other restaurant information

Restaurant details — address, contact details, ratings, photographs, menus — come from sources the restaurants or third parties have published. We do not verify them and they may be inaccurate or out of date. Menus and photographs remain the property of whoever owns them; we claim nothing over them.

If you own such content and object to its appearance in the app, write to hello@yesplate.eu and we will remove it.

9. Reports you send us

If you report an error or contact us, you allow us to use what you send to correct and improve the data, including in the published app. Do not send us anything confidential, and do not send us other people's personal details.

10. Acceptable use

Use the app for finding somewhere to eat. Do not scrape, bulk-download or resell the data, do not attempt to break the service or reach data the app does not show you, and do not use it in a way that breaks the law where you are.

Specifically, do not try to get around the free-tier limit by automated means, and do not resell, share or redistribute the results a pass gives you access to. If you do any of that, we may suspend access. Where we suspend a paid pass for this reason we will refund the unused part of it, unless the account was being used to attack or scrape the service — we are not obliged to fund that.

11. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is". We do not warrant that dietary verdicts, menus, opening information or any other content are accurate, complete or current, and we are not liable for loss arising from relying on them — in particular, from eating something the app suggested was probably fine.

Where you have paid for a pass and we have failed to supply the paid service properly, your remedies under consumer law — repair, a price reduction, or your money back — are unaffected by this section, and the refund policy is how we expect to deal with it in practice.

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for liability under applicable product liability law, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. Where you deal with us as a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.

12. The app itself

The YesPlate name, interface, design and software belong to us. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, © OpenMapTiles, served by OpenFreeMap and used under their terms. Nothing here gives you rights over any of it beyond using the app normally.

13. Privacy

The privacy policy explains what is processed and on what basis. It forms part of these terms.

14. Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and continuing to use the app means accepting the new version. Where you have bought a pass, a change we make during it does not take away what you paid for — see section 3.

These terms are governed by Bulgarian law. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.

Consumers may refer disputes to the conciliation commissions of the Bulgarian Commission for Consumer Protection (Комисия за защита на потребителите), https://kzp.bg. We are not obliged, and do not undertake, to participate in proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
